We decided to make Zurich Switzerland a stop on our European vacation for one reason alone, I almost got to move here to live and work as a Dental Hygienist. Kirk and I had just started dating, and there was an opportunity to work abroad in Switzerland. I signed up and was accepted, with a job offer shortly after! After signing up for German lessons, and looking for apartments to rent there, the Dentist decided to use a local hygienist. The placement agency decided they didn't want to do international placement anymore, so that was that! (We were engaged 1 month later!) I've always wanted to visit to see where I would have lived, so we decided to spend 2 days in Zurich. First of all Zurich is EXPENSIVE, especially the food! We visited the "old town", did a lot of shopping, visited the church and climbed to the top of the dome (which we always do), and shopped some more! There wasn't too much more to do, especially because the weather was cool and rainy, and in retrospect we would have not gone to Zurich and instead spent an extra day in Paris and an extra day in Como. Live and learn I guess! The shopping, however, was great! I outgrew both pairs of my jeans while on vacation (well maybe a little before vacation too), and my sweet hubby was tired of hearing me complain about being uncomfortable. So while shopping, he found a great pair of "high waisted" "stretchy" jeans for me to try on! At first I was angry and didn't want to buy jeans while on vacation especially jeans that were "bigger" for me..... until I realized how cute and inexpensive they were, and that they had "stretchy" in them! I ripped off the tag, passed it over the dressing room for him to pay, and wore them the rest of our trip! I'm so glad I listened to my sweet husband!
Arriving in Zurich, I'm checking the itinerary to locate the best route to our hotel!
