Well.... Kirk and I have finally started a real blog! What I should probably say is that "I" have started a blog for us (he will probably never have time to update this). I will do my best to continue updating this blog as we live this journey that we call "LIFE". (Thank you Amy for encouraging me to do this!)
We have now been married for 3 and a half years and are loving every moment of it! We still currently live 100% "on the road" which means that all of our belongings are in storage and we travel to different locations for Kirk to work with Dept. of Defense (DOD) contractors on program management or proposals for new business. He works for a consulting firm named Steve Myers and Associates, and so far have been lucky enough to live in Philly for a month, Washington DC for a month, and Manhattan Beach CA for a YEAR!!! We would never have lived by the beach (outside of LA) for a year if his company didn't send us there (and pay for it!).
We are currently in Austin and have been since September of 2008. Kirk works with the Texas State Legislature's branch called ERCOT (electrical reliability council of Texas). They are in the process of trying to switch Texas's electrical system from one type to another (zonal to nodal). We thought the project was short term, but it has turned out to be a bit longer! We chose this assignment to be close to family, especially for the holidays. I also needed to be close to Kirk's mom Donna to help her recuperate after her surgery, and am proud to say she is cancer free! We look forward to finding out what his company has in store for us, maybe a move in the near future? We'll be sure to let you know!
